Forum: web Subject: Does archive.org preserve forums

Does Archive.org preserve Internet forums? If they dont, I'm worried. Forums show us what people were thinking years ago, and i think it is important to Preserve them. Please reply.

In the most general sense, we can. Our crawlers do not capture sites that require a login or a password, though. And some forum sites put up robots.txt files to block crawlers from capturing the conversations (which is understandable sometimes). You can submit a site for crawling if you'd like, and hopefully we can get what you'd like. We do have some older forums that I've seen, but probably not as many as one would hope.
